"If I ever opened a trampoline store, I don't think I'd call it Trampo-Land, because you might think it was a store for tramps, which is not the inpression we are trying to convey with our store. On the other hand, we would not prohibit tramps from browsing, or testing the trampolines, unless a tramp's gyrations seemed to be getting out of control."

AFTER DARK

After reading through my numerous mag subscriptions for the month. Too many for most but it is a neccesary evil for me. Anyway, due to reviews I will be picking up "After Dark" by Haruki Murakami. No I have not read it yet so I do not have a review nor would I provide one if I did. It is simply not fair to alter one's decision before they make their own opinion. By this the way this is about gamblers and hookers amongst other things from the author who brought us "Kafka on the Shore". Below is the synapsis.

"Murakami's 12th work of fiction is darkly entertaining and more novella than novel. Taking place over seven hours of a Tokyo night, it intercuts three loosely related stories, linked by Murakami's signature magical-realist absurd coincidences. When amateur trombonist and soon-to-be law student Tetsuya Takahashi walks into a late-night Denny's, he espies Mari Asai, 19, sitting by herself, and proceeds to talk himself back into her acquaintance. Tetsuya was once interested in plain Mari's gorgeous older sister, Eri, whom he courted, sort of, two summers previously. Murakami then cuts to Eri, asleep in what turns out to be some sort of menacing netherworld. Tetsuya leaves for overnight band practice, but soon a large, 30ish woman, Kaoru, comes into Denny's asking for Mari: Mari speaks Chinese, and Kaoru needs to speak to the Chinese prostitute who has just been badly beaten up in the nearby "love hotel" Kaoru manages. Murakami's omniscient looks at the lives of the sleeping Eri and the prostitute's assailant, a salaryman named Shirakawa, are sheer padding, but the probing, wonderfully improvisational dialogues Mari has with Tetsuya, Kaoru and a hotel worker named Korogi sustain the book until the ambiguous, mostly upbeat dénouement. MOVIES:

There are three main ones out this week: Pirates of the Caribbean, Knocked Up and Mr. Brooks. Pirates is nearly 2.5 hrs long and about the same monotonous plot as the previous versions and besides seeing the very short cameo of Keith "Coconut" Richards who has to be a friggin moron falling out of a tree, there is not much here. Johnny Depp is always a plus though. Knocked up follows the premise of what the title says featuring the new league of soon to be featuring in every movie together comedians. My choice is the new thriller featuring a fare from "Field of Dreams" and much better than the flop "The Guardian" Kevin Costner.

Synopsis.

"Earl Brooks (Kevin Costner) is a loving family man and a local business icon. But Mr. Brooks is deeply flawed and very aware of it. He is addicted to killing. Struggling with his pathology, he tries to quit, but his alter-ego, "Marshall" (William Hurt), has an altogether different idea. Detective Tracy Atwood (Demi Moore), battling with her own demons, is extremely frustrated at the lack of clues left by the mysterious killer. When Brooks is compelled to perform one last murder, he gets sloppy and is seen by a voyeuristic neighbor. Unexpectedly turned-on by what he sees, the prying neighbor, Mr. Smith (Dane Cook), has an unusual and disturbing blackmail demand. With Detective Atwood on his trail, Mr. Brooks and "Marshall" are forced to play out an increasingly elaborate game."

ARTIST OF THE WEEK:

This was a Christmas gift from Kelly to her parents. Good job Kelly, now pack up your shit and find a foster home. If my kids tried to pass this off as a gift, they'd come home from school and find all their shit outside in a box. What a lousy gift, seriously. You give them video games and toys, and they give you some half-assed drawing with a crooked tree. I wonder how much a gift like this would set someone back. Five, maybe ten minutes to find a napkin and some markers? F

Holy shit, I almost had a seizure when I saw this one. Three words: too many colors. Also, eggs aren't supposed to have ears, dipshit.F

Movies: Georgia Rule

Well here's another from a trio of ladies. Felicity Huffman folling up her Transamerica oscar run, Jane Fonda now divorced and in much different role than her "Barbarella" bathing suit action many years and wrinkles before and the highlight the ever drunk-coked out-smoking no longer teeny bopper La La Lohan. Also she was recently videod in London blowing coke in a bathroom. Shit we all know that is not a hard thing to believe. Lohan's role fits her rebellious attitude as if it were meant to be. From Director Gara Marshall credited with Pretty Woman fame.
Bottom line: Probably worth getting d.i.p.t.

Everyone watch out for that leprechaun in Mobile, AL:

Movie:Hot Fuzz
This one is funny as hell from the British clowns that brought us Shaun of the Dead.

Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He's so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so embarrassing - the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny's puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel's growing frustration. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality. It's time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice.

Lit: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I dont care how much a bad ass you think you are you know you want to dip into this. With a initial print run of 12 million copies Rowling is sure to be rollin over and over in dough. The movie to follow later.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series of novels by J. K. Rowling. The book title was announced on December 21, 2006 via a special Christmas-themed hangman puzzle on Rowling's website and confirmed shortly afterwards by the book's publishers.[1] Rowling has stated that the final volume relates so closely to the previous book in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, "almost as though they are two halves of the same novel."[2] It features the adventures of the series' protagonist Harry Potter as he attempts to bring an end to his nemesis, Lord Voldemort.

The book will be released in English-speaking countries around the world at 00:01 British Summer Time on July 21, 2007. In the U.S., however, the book will be released at 00:01 local time, which will be 8 hours after the other English-speaking countries for the first U.S. States to reach 00:01.[3] The book reached the top spot on both the Amazon.com- and Barnes and Noble-bestseller lists just a few hours after the date was announced on 1 February 2007.[4] American publisher Scholastic announced an initial print run of 12 million copies, together with an advertising campaign, including the staged release of the seven questions most debated by fans.[5] The book is expected to be 608 pages in the British edition,[6] and has been confirmed to be 784 pages in the US edition, and 816 pages in the US deluxe edition.[7] The book is the largest pre-ordered book in history.[8]

Rowling completed the book while staying at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh in January 2007 and left a signed statement on a marble bust of Hermes in her room which read: "JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11 January 2007".[9] In a web update on 6 February 2007, Rowling wrote, "While each of the previous Potter books has strong claims on my affections, 'Deathly Hallows' is my favourite, and that is the most wonderful way to finish the series."[10]

DIPTLIST [i'm the major bison of the boulevard, the barracude fightin on the fishin rod]

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done." [Handey]

COMEDY: YOU CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH OF RACK EM WILLIE

MOVIE: VINCENT GALLO'S "THE BROWN BUNNY"

This is the controversial movie from acclaimed director, artist, musician Vincent Gallo who resides in NOHO NYC, my old neighborhood. It stars Chloe Sevigny and Vincent states his sperm is on the market for $300,000. Ego?

The Brown Bunny

The Brown Bunny is both a love story and a haunting portrait of a lost soul unable to forget his past.

After finishing a motorcycle race in New Hampshire, Bud Clay (Vincent Gallo) loads his racing bike into the back of his van and begins a cross-country odyssey to Los Angeles where he is to compete in another race. During his trip, he meets three very different women: Violet, a wholesome all-American gas station attendant; Lilly (Cheryl Tiegs), a fellow lost soul he connects with at a highway rest stop; and Rose, a Las Vegas prostitute.

Though he can never escape his intense feelings for the love of his life, Daisy (Chloë Sevigny), he plans to reconcile with her when he reaches Los Angeles.

Along the way, he also makes a series of unusual stops; at his childhood neighborhood (where he visits Daisy’s mother); at a pet shop in the Midwest; and at the surreal Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Arriving in Los Angeles, Bud checks into a motel before visiting the abandoned home he once shared with Daisy. He leaves a note, hoping she will turn up at his motel room . . .

Building to a notorious climax, the film presents one of the frankest portrayals of male sexuality ever seen in American cinema

HIGH FASHION: KATE MOSS TOPSHOP LINE JUST DROPPED WITH THE HOTNESS

Besides strolling the catwalk from about everywhere possible, snorting coke with illicit boyfriend Pete Doherty, and sloppin drinks up in every club from NY to Paris she has now debuted her new line excusive to TOPSHOP

Hundreds of shoppers lined up for a sneak peek at Kate Moss' new collection for British fashion retailer Topshop.

Moss posed briefly in a store window in a flowing orange dress to promote the preview only moments before it began. Topshop was to let groups of shoppers browse for 20 minutes at a time Monday to avoid a mad scramble.

The collection includes jeans, shirts and dresses designed by the 33-year-old supermodel.

First in line outside the chain's Oxford Street store was 16-year-old Yasmin Kidd. "I want to get first pick," said Kidd, who was accompanied by her mother. "I'm a fan of Kate Moss and I usually shop at Topshop."

Customers could try on a maximum of eight garments during the preview and could purchase five of them. The company said it hoped limiting the number of garments per person would discourage shoppers from selling items on the eBay online auction house.

The collection by Moss was to be formally unveiled Tuesday. A Man A Woman

A Man A Woman

Shoppers can choose from 50 designs, including a vest top for $24 and a cropped leather jacket for $300. Other items include skinny jeans, one-shoulder minidresses and T-shirts with the letter K woven into the designs.

The collection includes a summer line set to hit Topshop in June.
